the world tells us we should be ready for it,
but truly the best kind of love is given to those who need it
to those who have never known love
to those who crave it
to those who have lost itto those who can’t find it
it is then when we find love
like a beacon shining through the fog
like a life raft in a storm
love keeps us afloat when we have grown weary
it keeps us safe from all our fearsall our nightmares
love gives us hope
and with that hope we can extend love to others
we become the beacon of hope
the lighthouse keeper
we look in the darkest shadows
for those who are screaming out in pain
for those who are reaching for a hand to hold
only to grab onto nothing but air
their temporary pleasures give them false hope,
like a mossy rock, they soon lose their grip and are left to fall
to fall back to where they started from
to fall into despairinto addiction
into the darkto fall into nothingness
we can reach out to grab themto catch them
but we can’t reach that far into the dark
too far where we can’t see
but even still, a hand reaches into the darkness and pulls out the ones who have fallen
He catches them right before they fall out of reach
but then again, everything is in His reach
nothing is out of His sight
they are pulled up out of the darkness, into the light
the blinding light
this light is love
His love.
I believe love is a journey. it is a task. Love can be presented to us, offered to us, but we have to maintain our part of the promise. love is something so powerful, so much more than the physical acts it is modernly defined as. so much more than the emotional acts we dream of. Love is like the ultimate prize, it's in His hands, sitting there waiting for us. It has always been waiting and will continue to wait. Forever, until we finally take action and lift up our hand to reach out and hold on to that promise that is ours to keep. The promise of His unconditional love
